The French scene has always after the Second World War been very much out ahead of in their defeats. And that's actually why I felt like one of the best lines of understanding 68 was in a way as a kind of post-colonial martial plan, revolt against a martial plan. So you could see the Edible revolt against bureaucratic Stalinism on the one hand, as well as American imperial cultural colonialism, right? Right. It's a sort of attitude, of course they're trying to imitate the Chinese cultural revolution and all of that strange, lost in translation situation, right?"
