Death marches have been a common method of execution in a hands-off method throughout history. At one point, we're probably going to need to cover the Japanese death march that they had used. She sent them on a forced march through malaria-ridden swamps. It's like, I sure fire away to execute someone without ever getting your hands technically dirty. But as we said, she would rule until she would die peacefully in her sleep.
In 1828, after the death of her husband, Queen Ranavalona I. came into power by killing all other potential regents (wives, sons, mothers). At that time, she was between 30 and 40 years old. Ranavalona I. went down in history rather ingloriously and bears the surname “the cruel”. Many Malagasy call her regency tany maizina, in English “years of darkness”. But despite this she is still a rather complex character. One who did amazing and terrible things at the same time. Let us tell her story today
