If you apologize sincerely, it's a golden ticket to re establish rappor. Label the other person in a useful way and don't tell them they're stupid. Let people speak without interrupting or jumping on top of each others points. Don't be afraid to say 'I'm sorry' if you've done something wrong. If someone is trying to make a point but doesn't want to finish their sentence, let them stand right in. The idea of letting people continue finishing their presentation has its place.
