Is There a Native Mistrust of People?

I will suggest that there is a native mistrust of people. We come to the table with a ton of mistrust, like you have to somehow walk through someone's doubts and scepticism. I think it's the idea of sort of being in the court, but not being the king. And i'm optimistic that if we tweak the system in the right way, we can actually fix it. The current crop of politicians has earned so much distrust because they've been at the top for such a long time. It's a chicken or egg problem to get better politicians.
