The Sun in Los Angeles

For me, LA is super tricky because it's so big. You fly into LA and you're like, Oh my gosh, it never ends. And the sense of place changes drastically just by driving down the road. So I feel like this is a hard question because they all feel different. But in all of these, there is one central character that is always there - which is the sun. The sun is like every LA book, it's hot, right? It's not like oppressively hot usually, but that sun creates carefree or oppressive moods depending on where you are.
