The Return to Hegel Is Not a Conservative, but a True Radical
Rose argues that both major trends of contemporary sociology remain trapped in the same transcendental paradim. Her hegel is a true radical who sees history as an open ended process, she says. She thinks philosophy has a role to play in overcoming the modern split between theory and practice. Without this, for all our sociological sophistication, we'll just endlessly shout into the void of the neo contian echo chamber while society continues to crumble under the weight of capital.
