I don't believe that there was really much advancement in the idea of what the particles actually are to like a good deal later, right? Like 18th, 19th century. I guess Newton had some theory of light. There were thoughts, but actual concrete proof of what's actually happening within this matter that we call, well matter, right? That didn't happen for quite a while. The only thing that is different is the number of these things that make up the particle that makes up the atom and that is protons, neutrons and electrons. But that is a fundamental difference though. It's pretty fundamental that they're more of the same thing. They're not actually different things
