Idioms in Conversation

The problem with idioms sometimes is that when you haven't had a lot of contact in england, or an english speaking countryor in america orwat ve, people use them in certain contexts. And so they're a bit of a, i call it a mine field. You know, you think you're doing it right, but really you've got it wrong. Sometimes i advise my students to kind of, like, understand idioms, but be very careful about trying to use the idiom if they're really not sure of the right context.
