Is the Execution of the Red Sox a Good Idea?

The Red Sox have been consistent in their spending, which has been at least around the luxury tax threshold above it in one year of Dave Dombrowski's tender tenure rather. This looks like it's going to be the third year where they're just a little bit below it and that does represent a something of a step back. If you're bouncing between being a team that's competing for the playoffs one year and being like a four fifty team that doesn't play a meaningful game in September the other two, then that's a little bit harder to stomach.
