It depends ultimately on the company's business model. For some companies like Google or Facebook, if there's a bug on their website, you know, they have to fix it otherwise the flow of advertising dollar stops. The beautiful thing about running software on your servers rather than your customers' phones or laptops is that you can patch it on the fly. And so it doesn't have to be quite as dependable because the costs of remediation are much lower. But of course, that isn't the case for all software.
