The Importance of Masking in Talking to Clients
Alina: To what extent should clinicians be bringing up or introducing the idea of masking when it comes to clients talking about struggles that they're having either interpersonally or like that seem to be maybe related to things like depression or anxiety. Is this something that we should be introducing into the room? You mean introducing the idea that perhaps the client is masking? Alina: I think whatever language resonates for the client even you know it might be that you're looking for safety when you do this or you're keeping a piece of yourself private. It's so similar to the concept of people pleasing right and that's something that everybody you say hey you're people pleasing it resonates
