I don't think the best engineers are going to build the next big app. I actually think that the people who start companies have a much more similar profile to dev rel. There are days where I wish I didn't think technically. Sometimes I feel like engineers are like so solution oriented. And it's just like, try something, like, don't just sit there and keep guessing and like doing. Just pick something and go.
In this episode of the State of Developer Education podcast, Jon speaks with Julie Hubschman, Senior Product Manager of Developer Experience at DriveWealth, the pioneer of fractional equities and embedded investing, a visionary technology company empowering more than 100 partners around the world to engage their customers. Prior to this, she was the Developer Relations Lead at Gusto, Partnerships Engineer at Pinterest, and a Software Engineer at Microsoft!
Join them as they discuss the potential ramifications and risks of building certain code; why developing skills in other areas of education can help you as a developer; and how hackathons can a useful way to build relationships with companies and other developers. They also discuss some of the issues with spamming and how to best overcome them.
