The Chimpanzee's Theory of Mind

The question is do chimps have a theory of mind? This was a famous question asked about 30 years ago. And at the moment there's broad consensus that in some sense of theory the chimps do have a Theory ofMind. So what hangs on that? Why is that interesting philosophically? Well I think it's intrinsically interesting to know what's going on in the minds of animals. It's very hard to imagine how you could apply it to chimps.
