Invasion of Egypt by the Hixos
excavations at avaris, known by the modern name of tel el daba, shed a ton of light on these questions. New evidence points toward a much more gradual process of migration from the levant in the northeast to day's palestine and lebanon. This was a cosmopolitan elite that embraced foreign religious rituals. They even imported specialist craftsmen from mino and crete to paint stunning frescoes for them.
