A renesrard is that human beings don't desire things objectively. They look to their neighbor. Like the ten commandments talks about, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's monkey,. The emphasis is on the neighbor. But memetic desire can also be positive, when you're doing it in a way that is not creating conflict and rivalry. And humans can imitate positively, but they can also imitate negatively. It's much easier to get out of a negative feedback loop of copping.
