12-year-old Becky Pepper Jackson can continue to compete on her school's track and field team. Her lawsuit against West Virginia's ban on trans athletes competing on girls' teams winds its way through the court. Two petitions were even started in an attempt to change the current rule of the state's governing body of interscholastic sports. The Supreme Court declined to intervene in the case at this point, so Becky can continue to competed for now.
President Biden hopes so. His administration is preparing to roll out new rules that would counter state and local bans aimed at keeping transgender youth out of sports. ESPN’s Katie Barnes explains.
