i think it does lend some credence to these various interpretations of scripture, because they were closer to the events. But i would still want to look at the the scriptures themselves and see if the way to interpret those is the best way to do that. The bible doesn't state nor give examples of praying to the saints but there has been doctrinal development in this area. A person can search his bible from one through 21, 22, and never find this variation of prayer mentioned anywhere in scripture. Another example would be the sinner's prayer, which i am a huge fan of for many reasons.
