Control Your Breath Rhythmically When You're in Cold Water

When we get into very cold water, there's a very robust decrease in the activation of the prefrontal cortex. By simply controlling our breath, again, even if it's fast, from inhale to exhale and making sure that we're alternating inhales and exhales rhythmically, you'll be able to navigate what would otherwise be a very stressful circumstance. This skill definitely translates to other aspects of life in which, you know, you're hit square in the face with something stressful. We'll talk about that just briefly in a few minutes.
