The Importance of Sati in Meditation
Sati or mindfulness is that quality of non-interfering awareness, of bare attention. It's the opposite of absent-mindedness when we're lost and don't know what's going on. Sati allows us to see all experience as empty phenomena rolling on. But we need to prepare the mind to receive the deeper insights.
