Is There a Preference for Clarity in Your Writing?

i feel like what i've done in most of my life is devote myself to writing in a way that feels authoritative, so like i can kind of perform authorit. But on the other hand, i'm also writing out of a tradition of memoir writing, or of self reflection, that is informed by that. So it's partly, it's partly like my understanding of myself is very much filtered through a literary tradition when i write about it. I feel like my literary values have gotten simpler and clearer, like i wante to be understood.
