The Only Thing That Doesn't Hurt Us
When something happens, the only thing in our power that we have control over is our attitude toward it. We can either accept it, or we can resent it. What doesn't frighten us is the external events themselves because they're objective things. But this is a thing that scares us, is the way we actually think about them. The meaning that we apply to it, that's up to us to choose. That's sending you downto the anti stoic path.
