The Negative Definition of Sleep

The point of sleep is to experience life more deeply. If we're not really getting deep sleep, we just aren't aware of how we're going about our lives and are living them less fully. Even scientific evidence today suggests that sleep is the default in consciousness. There's a place beneath all of the noise of waking life where sleep resides. When we let go of waking, it's right there. And I think in the end, when we open up to this possibility...we fall back in love with sleep.
