Drinks are an integral part of a lot of culture, historically and currently. In new orleans, we seem to kind of ratchet that up a little extra starting from really the founding of the colony. New orleanans learned very early on france was disappointed in the colony. And so from the earliest days of the colony, people are drinking to anasthetize themselves too.
