A urine dipstick is a quick screen for any proteinuria or hematuria, which may be signs of underlying glomerular disease. Other confirmatory tests include a serum albumin for hypoalbenemia and lipid panel for hyperlipidemia. Rinal function is important to monitor as AKI can complicate nephrotic syndrome. Age-appropriate cancer screening is recommended given the association with underlying malignancies.
