The Anglo Saxons and the Norse

There were two main contending camps in this long running, century's long feud for control of britain. The anglo saxon camp and the norse camp who also were sometimes called danes or danish. Main base of power was mostly in western part ofbritain; wessex held out most effectively against vikings. On other side were the norse or the danish, who established them selves in britain as a competing power. And various areas like essex, northumbria, kent might be fought over back and forth between these two jurisdictions.
