I was taught a faith growing up that I think had a lot of good in it. But over time, it became diluted and even corrupted by a series of factors. The Christianity expressed by a lot of evangelicals today has lost a lot of its potency because it's been sort of co-opted by materialism and the American dream. And its political expression has been manipulated and taken captive by the Republican Party.
