Is Ukraine an Independent State?
Many russians still don't really accept that ukraine is an independent country. A lot of people thought a greater path to prosperity was through closer ties with europe. Russian novelist andre kurkov has got this idea that ukranians are basically anarchic people. And he traces this pirit of anarchy and freedom loving back to the cossacks in the sixteenth and seventeenth century.
