Are There Any Downsides to the Green Revolution?

Vandana shisheva said the green revolution was an agricultural disaster. She is still wildly popular with people who like to criticise science based farming practices into the developing world. But in fact, these were technologies that actually saved farmers from the use of inputs. It was a wonderful way to increase production without having to spend more on inputs and without putting the environment at risk.
