The Reforms That Benjamin Netanyahu Is Proposing
Benjamin Netanyahu wants to change the composition of Israel's judicial appointments committee. The new law would have given the government and coalition control over who is appointed to the Supreme Court. Another law would have allowed the Knesset to pass legislation which the Supreme Court cannot then overrule or say it was in any way unconstitutional. A fourth law would have replaced the legal councils of the government ministries with private lawyers, allowing ministers to hire whoever they wanted.
