The sergeant pepper is listened to by pretty much everybody on the planet and so leaving aside the relatively uninteresting question of historical priority is it the first concept album nevertheless it's the album that really puts in place really centers the idea of a concept album. There has long been a counter argument that it's not really a concept album because like you know Tommy is a concept albumYeah 21 12 which is half of a conceptalbum those are concept albums insofar as there's an actual definable concept that's sort of narrative that affects the songs that happen on the album but this one doesn't work that way all it has is a pair of bookends of same peppers right yeah sergeant peppers lonely hearts club band
