Is There a Need for Maps in Games?

"When you get that mass transportation when your players now can plane shift or teleport anywhere in the world it gets a little we don't need maps for this," he says. "You want to give them the tools now if you're playing a more linear game and this is set in the real world so there's that as well but something like the last of us where through the first game I haven't played a second." He adds: "I think we see very similar things almost in you know literature as well  if it's a more condensed experience with novellas and short stories those didn't include the map"
