Is the West a Superpower in Torture?
i don't think that we should regard the west as tremendously superior to everyone else in any respect of torture, says wickam. It's partly a matter of the difference between what theories you find academics in a given country exponding and how you find their governments behaving. For example, if we want to insist that girls as well as boys should should get formal education, then we are going to be a running counter to what or some ar cultural outlooks hold. I mean, it's clear that there's some kind of balance an has to be struck here.
