Ron joined Sam at Walmart in 1969 and was charged with overseeing the financials and distribution for the company. Ron created a centralized operation that allowed Walmart to order for multiple stores at once Have the order shipped to one distribution center and then parceled out to individual stores From 1969 to 1970 Walmart sales doubled and as he worked to remake and modernize Walmart's buying systems Ron slowly became Sam's right-hand man.
