In general, either you ignore the email or if you're a little bit more socially minded, you get back to the editor and say, no, thank you. But it seems like it didn't I'm kind of amazed in retrospect that it didn't occur for people to just sort of give this a name. If it costs $10,000 to publish an open access article, then we're all going to have expectation that's not possible for everyone. They've just priced themselves out of the market.
