Samson Is a Judge, Not a Role Model

David Perry: Samson was never the leader of a nation. He is appointed at some point to get rid of a problem, and so in Samson's case, the problem is the Philistines. The only time he ever prays in the book of Judges is what he's about to die. Sometimes God chooses imperfect people to do something, but we can't say no, it was sinlessly perfect either.
