The NIST Announcement of Quantum Resistant Cryptographic Algorithms

On July 5th, 2022, NIST announced the four quantum resistant cryptographic algorithms. This was the result of a six year investigation where they asked the world's leading cryptographers to devise and then vet encryption methods that could resist an attack from a future quantum computer. For general encryption, used when we access websites, for example, NIST has selected Crystal's cyber algorithm. Among its advantages are the relatively small encryption keys that two parties can exchange easily as well as its speed of operation.
