The Problem That Bitcoin Solved Is Time Preference
Bitcoin's internal time is based on the block height. The only anchor to the real world is the difficulty adjustment, which kind of with a moving window adjusts the difficulty in a way so that we match 10 minutes of human time. And this solves so many problems at once. So if you mine additional coin, you know, 15 years ago, then it's completely worth less because your birthday card, the chip in your happy birthday card can mine it for you later.
