The Invisible Power of Ableism

Crip incest is not to suggest that we should all start engaging in incestuous practices, but that wouldn't bother me. Rather, it is to illustrate the myriad ways in which ableism seeps into so many discourses and practices without us even overtly recognizing it. Ableism is a form of normative violence that makes abledness compulsory and leads to the objection of disabled bodies. That's why where victimhood culture comes from, by the way, that's all it is. Victimhood culture is Gnosticism. It would take like weeks to go through a chapter and podcast form of any of her books because she writes things like that.
