The Role of a Strong Man in Politics

In relation to the european oligarchy, the thing that finally toppled it from the british people's perspective was not monarchy. It was only the power of democracy that could do that in a meaningful way. And one of the ideas you have put forward is the idea of a neo monarchy. Not necessarily a king or a queen, but an individual, possibly kept in check to a certain extent by a board - isn't that despotism?
