The struggles of creating black owned, queer friendly spaces. The price of rent goes up if you're leasing a space and it's no longer affordable to maintain that space. Some communities have zero places where folks like me can go and feel wholly affirmed. I think one of the things about the lavender book is that as we're pushing people to reflect on these places that feel like home to them.
