The People's Joy Is Withered Away

Joel introduces us to the plot of god's people by using the metaphor of a locust plague. He likens it too babylonians, who he says are like locusts gone, but there's nothing left. So from his metaphor comes his message: "Wake up, you drunkards and weep" And then joe invites the people respond with an appropriate amount of introspection and repentance.
