We all are curious unless that's somehow been destroyed in the course of our life, but we are by nature curious. We want to know what would happen if I grabbed this vase off the table and dropped it on the floor? They're not being naughty, they're being curious. That's Curiosity is the drive really to acquire knowledge, to acquire an understanding of the world around you, how it works. The other part of education is acquiring skills, acquiring the abilities to do things. Play serves the function of acquiring skills.
