Anti-Colonial Internationalism and the Congo Crisis
With the more ambitious world making projects waning on the international stage, nationalists deployed a minimalist version of internationalism. This not only prioritized the precious nature of external sovereignty over its internal instability, but also equated internal descent with external intervention. A new human rights order that frames rights as inhering principally in the individual, and frames states as the principal violator of those rights emerged.
