Alphabet Doesn't Want to Test That Out

Alphabetic pays Apple a lot of money every year to be kind of be the default search engine on iPhones. I believe that if you took that relationship away immediately alphabet would look better because they're not paying out Apple all that money however it was a long term opportunity for a competitor whether that's Apple or like Microsoft. Neither one Apple or alphabet wants to test that out but neither really want to test who would become the winner in that scenario.
