Donald Trump comes off like a moderate compared to Ron DeSantis, at least on some issues. He wants to score points with the Republican voter base so that they will think of him as a credible, strong, conservative who fights against the wokeness. Donald Trump is in a lot of ways, obviously not moderate, but compared to DeSantis on cultural issues, he comes off that way.
