Using Machine Learning to Find Unexpected Pairings in Particle Mechanics

In particle physics, we look for a heavy particle decaying to two other particles. We don't want to go to Mars and discover exactly what we expected; we want to find something that blows our minds. That's what I want to do in particle physics is to look for something weird and unusual. Think about landing a rover on Mars. You turn over that rock. There could be critters under there. The reason nobody had predicted this or thought about it was just because nobody had been interested.
