The Importance of Tolerance

In India, the notion of a powerful ruler humbling himself before holy man has a very long history. It is part of a tradition of religious tolerance that was a legacy of Genghis Khan and Tamalain. Jahangir also seemed to have been driven by his own personal desire to explore the spiritual truths of other religious traditions. He had many private meetings with the renowned Hindu hermit, Grosin Jadrup.
