Sally Kohn: There's a tension between the notion that the system is everything and the notion of personal responsibility or the individual case. She says she feels comfortable passing judgments on systems, not on individuals. Kohn: "I can't make sweeping generalizations about people's individual circumstances ... All I can do is think about the environment in which those individual realities are playing out"
