Mattel had a bit of a hand in Barbie. Jay Robert Oppenheimer used to tell me to call out a weapon. He did it. No, Barbie was not a plucky little indie film,. just sort of like crowdfunded or anything like that. She can't climb the stairs. That's the biggest one that jumps out to you. The back of her package had an explanation of what a film director does. It doesn't begin like Andrew Sarris defined the Arturo theory. We can't all be film director Barbies who also have a perfect understanding of semiotics.
