The Crisis in the Tulip Trade
Not very many people were involved in the trade. And so I couldn't find anybody who went bankrupt because of tulip mania. There wasn't a lot that people could do because people just kept saying, hey, everybody else has refused to pay. They had to make an answer and they generally gave was I will do as another has done. That's the crisis in my view is that people started to see that it might be seen as acceptable not to pay up when you made a promise.That's a problem in a country which is, which runs on credit.
